The event has its history and these days is celebrating a small jubilee. Five years ago Foundation for Legal Technologies Development has organized and conducted the first Summer Camp on Human Rights for Belarusian Law Students.

The V Summer Camp on Human Rights for Law Students took place on July 22 - August 3 in Bad Liebenzell, Germany. Traditionally, participation in the Summer Camp was offered to 30 students of law faculties and postgraduates of law departments of Belarusian universities, as well as to students studying law abroad.

The aims of the Summer Camp were to promote development of civil education in the human rights sphere, as well as public interests legal protection action.

Organizers of the event traditionally were Foundation for Legal Technologies Development (Kyiv, Ukraine) and Internationales Forum Burg Liebenzell - Academy for Political Education of Youth and International Relations (Bad Liebenzell, Germany).

The program of the event included lectures and interactive sessions upon the following topics:

  • Introduction into the concept of Human Rights;
  • European system of human rights protection;
  • OSCE system of human rights protection;
  • UN system of human rights protection;
  • Legal, monitoring, public and enlightenment activities for protection of human rights.

Within the framework of the program, study visits to the European Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe were organized.

This time the program was enriched with the discussions on the topics of Eastern Partnership initiative and the European Neighborhood policy.

Lectures and discussions were provided for by Belarusian human rights activists, leaders of Belarusian and international human rights NGO's, law professors of the European universities, public figures, representatives of international organizations, political scientists, experts in the field of human rights and questions of organizational development and international cooperation.
